Selenite is a crystal that needs very little cleaning.  I have heard some people say that it never needs cleaning, but I disagree.  Selenite is great at removing negative energies and clearing other stones.  It is a gentle, peaceful stone.
 
The white Selenite resonates with the Crown Chakra.  This makes it effective at clearing energy in a top-down method.  It connects with higher knowledge and wisdom which helps with spiritual development.
