Palo Santo is a holy wood.  Humo Sagrado, the brand that I purchased, is sustainably harvested.  This means that the wood is harvested from trees that have naturally fallen rather than chopping down living trees.  It is a little more expensive, but ethically sourced enhancing social responsibility.
 
Palo Santo is burnt like incense to clear negative energy, for protection, and to create a calm, sacred space.  It is grounding and enhances your meditation experience.
 
The number of sticks in each bundle will vary, but most will contain six or more sticks depending on their size.
