Myrrh, a resin, boosts spirits and the soul, is used for its restorative properties, and alleviates nervous issues.  It is used to sanctify and purify spaces as well as in rituals or ceremonies to anoint the body.  The scent of Myrrh is grounding and earthy which helps with centering and calming.
 
Ancient Egypt associated Myrrh with Isis while in Ancient Greece it was associated with Aphrodite, the goddess of love and beauty.  In sacred ceremonies, a person was anointed with Myrrh to facilitate healing and spiritual transformation.  It was one of the three gifts that the wise men brought to Jesus.
 
Myrrh is often used to represent the birth, death, and rebirth cycle which is a journey of transformation.  It also reminds us of our innate ability to heal and renew our mind, body, and spirit.  Myrrh mends by helping us change our challenges and struggles into a source of wisdom and resilience which result in growth and renewal.
