I would usually call a collection of crystals a grid.  My guides however were calling this an altar.  Typically, I think of an altar as being set up for rituals or worship.  This is an altar in the sense that there is an intention of what the crystals will work together to accomplish and that a person can speak to the areas in which they want more peace and love.  Spoken words are spells and spells can be part of a ritual.  I think that is why my guides are calling this an altar.  It is an altar of intention.

It reminds me of a boat and a friend called it a tree with the heart being the trunk.  Either fits with how the energy flows through the piece to help its owner navigate energies to find love and peace.  A boat flows through water and water flows through a tree so I feel that they both describe how this grid/altar works.
