Impactite was created from a meteorite striking the earth in Buskerud, Norway.  This event occurred around 500 million years ago.  The meteorite created a crater known as the Gardnos Crater which is over three miles wide.  It impacted bedrock which melted and fractured.  The bedrock combined with the mineral composition of the meteorite, and the new material infused itself into the Earth.
 
Just like Moldavite, Impactite is a high energy crystal.  When working with it, you may experience similar feelings to those of working with Moldavite.  If you do, work with it in small increments of time until you adjust to the vibrational energy of this stone.  Having grounding stones nearby will help you recenter in your body after working with Impactite.
