Chives carry fire and masculine energy as well as being associated with the planet Mars.  They lift the spirits of people who show signs of depression.  Often used in passion and lust spells, they also carry a protective energy.  If you are having problems with spirits, or stagnant, negative energies, hang stalks of Chives in your house.  They also help you break bad habits, by protecting you from temptations.  
 
Chives have been used as a divination tool.  To do this, throw the blades into the air while concentrating on your question.  Interpret how they fall to receive the answer to your question.  When used in a spell jar or charm bag, they bring balance, speed, and strength to the spell.  You could also protect your spells by placing a circle of Chives around them.  Put Chives in an oil and use the infused oil to anoint your tools or yourself with protective energy.
 
The Chives are grown organically on my property.  They are safe for consumption.
