Apache Tears are a form of Obsidian.  They are extremely healing, but they do bring emotions that need healing to the surface very quickly.  This could feel uncomfortable, but if you work with the stones in small increments of time, they will peel through the layers that need to be healed.
 
In addition to the healing, Apache Tears are purifying, grounding, and offer protection from negative and/or parasitic energies.  This helps with protecting your energy from psychic vampires.  They also offer strength while you work on learning lessons that you came to Earth to learn especially those lessons that seem difficult to you at the time.
