Amethyst is a stone that helps you work on your intuition while also protecting you.  It will adjust to the user.  If you need more energy, it increases energy.  If you need less, it decreases energy.
 
This gorgeous piece has Amethyst Phantoms.  There are some crystals in this piece that look like typical Amethyst.  Then there are crystals that have the purple covered over by clear Quartz.  It looks as though the Amethyst points are under a coating of ice.
